Franklin Audio 1.1 for LiveCode Released

Beaverton, Oregon. The Component Man Group, a division of Paradigma Software, announces that Franklin Audio 1.1 for Runrev LiveCode.

Franklin Audio 1.1 is a professional, multi-channel audio component available on the Windows and Mac OS X platforms. Licensed LiveCode developers can deploy the component royalty free with their applications.

Franklin Audio is a powerful developer external that lets you work with multi-channel audio without relying on huge audio libraries such as Apple QuickTime™. It does more though that simply load and play back sound files though, but provides a powerful bedrock of tools for delivering audio playback in a controlled way. Franklin Audio lets you load audio into buffers and then play them back in a virtual 3D space in relation to the listener, working relative to the audio hardware in use by the listener - speakers or head phones.

Features include:

  • Hardware Based Rendering. The software works with hardware devices without any special adaptation, including multi-channel compatible speakers and headphones
  • Spacial Audio. Each audio sample can be played back at a point in virtual 3D space in relation to the listener.
  • 32 Individual, Simultaneous Audio Sources. Each Franklin Audio source operates like an independent player - you can play, rewind, pause, stop and loop each source.
  • Audio Velocity. Since Franklin Audio supports audio source playback in a virtual 3d soundscape, it is possible to apply velocity and other motion effects to source playback.
  • Five Distance Models. Franklin Audio supports five different distance models for calculating attenuation (audio drawing faint with distance).
  • Audio Capturing. Franklin Audio also has built in support for audio capture.
  • Cross Platform Deployment. Include externals for development and deployment on both Windows and Mac OS X

Franklin Audio 1.1 is 50% until November 1, 2010 and immediately for purchase through the Franklin 3D website at http://www.franklin3d.com.
